Backstage Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: June 21, 2026
These Backstage Terms & Conditions ("Backstage Terms") govern your access to, registration with, and utilization of the Akhra Digital Backstage portal located at backstage.akhradigital.com (the "Portal"). By registering a user account, submitting digital audio or visual files, managing release metadata, accessing royalty reports, or executing withdrawals, you enter into a legally binding agreement with Akhra Digital (referred to as "Company", "We", "Us", or "Our").
These terms supplement our primary Terms of Service. In the event of any direct conflict between these Backstage Terms and the primary Terms of Service, these Backstage Terms shall prevail regarding your use of the Portal.
1. Mandatory Artist/Label Agreement & Profile Verification
To finalize your backstage account verification and unlock music upload privileges, you must read, sign, and upload a copy of our Artist/Label Agreement. This document defines the terms of our distribution partnership, rights management details, and revenue sharing.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Only agreements executed on your official artist or label letterhead will be accepted. You should review our provided sample agreement for reference before signing and uploading.
- Submission Guidelines: You must download the agreement format from the Portal, review it carefully, sign it, and upload the signed document.
- Multi-Label Accounts: If you represent multiple record labels under a single Backstage account, you are required to submit and sign a separate agreement for each new Label registered before uploading any music on behalf of that Label.
- Accepted Upload Formats & Limits: Uploads of signed agreements must be in PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPG, JPEG, or PNG format only, with a maximum file size limit of 5MB. Files exceeding this limit or in unaccepted formats will be automatically rejected.
- Account Hold Status: Until your signed agreements are uploaded and manually verified by our compliance team, your account will remain in a pending verification status. Distribution, scheduling, and catalog tools will remain locked.
2. Licensed Content Submission Standards
Any audio recordings, musical compositions, cover arts, and related metadata uploaded through the Portal must comply with the strict guidelines of our Quality Assurance (QA) team and Digital Service Providers (DSPs):
- Audio Formats: We allow these formats: Audio File (WAV, FLAC, AAC, max 100MB).
- Artwork Constraints: Art files must be square (minimum 3000 x 3000 pixels, up to 5000 x 5000 pixels), PNG or JPEG format, and RGB color mode. Artworks must not contain contact info, social handles, pricing information, barcodes, streaming service logos, or pixelated/blurred images.
- Metadata Accuracy: Track titles, version info, artist names, featured artists, composers, and lyricists must be input accurately in the correct fields. Track names must not contain search-term-optimized phrases (e.g., "Lo-Fi Beats for Studying", "Rain Sounds for Sleep"). Classical releases must include composer, orchestra, conductor, and soloist fields where applicable.
- ISRC and UPC Management: The Portal will generate free ISRC and UPC codes for each of your releases. If you are transfering catalog from another distributor, you must input your pre-existing codes to preserve streaming history.
3. Takedown Policies & Early Takedown Fee
You own your master recordings and compositions, and you have the right to request the removal of your catalog from the DSPs. However, because our initial distribution, code assignment, and QA processes are provided at zero cost, you agree to the following terms:
- Early Takedown Fee: If you request the takedown, removal, or transfer of a release within one (1) year (12 calendar months) of its upload date, you must pay a Takedown Fee per release. This fee covers our operational, bandwidth, and ingestion costs.
- Takedown Fee Waiver: The Takedown Fee is fully waived for any release that remains live and active in our system for more than twelve (12) consecutive months.
- Takedown Execution: Once the fee is paid (if applicable) and a takedown request is approved, we will deliver the takedown commands to the DSPs. Individual stores typically require 7 to 14 business days to completely remove the content from public view.
4. Anti-Fraud & Stream Manipulation Policy
We work in cooperation with DSPs to identify artificial stream manipulation (bot plays, click farms, loops, and playlist scams). If we receive reports of stream manipulation related to your catalog:
- We will immediately freeze your backstage account, block all pending withdrawals, and remove your entire catalog from all DSPs worldwide.
- All Royalties and earnings currently held in your account balance will be permanently forfeited and withheld to pay for store penalty fees, legal defense, and administrative costs.
- You will be permanently banned from registering any future accounts on our Portal.
5. Disputed Track Ownership & Split Sheets
If another user or third party claims ownership of a track or ISRC code distributed through your account:
- The Company will place the release on hold and request proof of ownership (raw project files, timestamped stems, master licensing agreements, or split sheets signed by all collaborators).
- Royalties generated by the disputed track will be held in escrow until the dispute is resolved between the parties.
- If you fail to provide proof of rights within seven (7) business days, the track will be taken down, and we may terminate your account.
6. Platform Availability, Maintenance, and Security
- Uptime: We strive to maintain backstage.akhradigital.com accessible at all times. However, we do not guarantee continuous or uninterrupted access to the Portal. The system may be offline for scheduled maintenance or due to network/hardware failures.
- Security Violations: You agree not to attempt to breach our portal security, reverse-engineer the dashboard, use scrapers, injection scripts, or engage in DDoS attacks. Any violation will result in criminal prosecution and immediate termination of service.
7. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Backstage Terms shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of India. Any legal dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or in connection with these terms, including the Portal's security or services, shall be referred to and resolved by binding arbitration in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
